For My Heart

between 2008 and 2017, i performed as a performance poet. a staple of poetry communities are chapbooks, small, self-created print publications. a chapbook is a simple way to practice compiling a publication, generate a little revenue at shows, and succinctly demonstrate your work to other writers. i self-published five of my own chapbooks and ended up with a bunch of other peoples collections via trades.

my last few chapbooks were a series, aptly titled poems by marshall "gripp" gillson, each with a different solid-color cover. this poem opened poems by marshall "gripp" gillson, volume 2 (the orange one), and forms a dyad with the second poem in the volume (for my reflection).
